General Information

Any business or corporation interested in selling alcoholic beverages within Morgan County, Kentucky, is required to obtain an Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) License. This license registers the business to legally sell alcoholic beverages, and you must obtain both a Kentucky ABC state license and a Morgan County ABC local license. The application fee varies by license type and is prorated according to the date of application.

Licensing Checklist

  • Step 1: Apply for a Kentucky ABC state application through the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s online licensing portal.
  • Step 2: Apply for the local license by completing the ABC Local Application. The Morgan County ABC Administrator will contact you to confirm and coordinate payment of the local application fee.
  • Step 3: Upon approval of your local application, the Morgan County ABC Administrator will provide local approval for your Kentucky ABC state application directly to the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control when it is requested.
  • Step 4: When your Kentucky ABC state license is issued, a Morgan County ABC local license will be issued when a copy of your state license is provided to the Morgan County ABC Administrator as long as the fee for the local license has been paid.
